Hi Chrisandangie & Bill.... Since you state the old Bridge is soon to be no more, and Albemarle Terrace turns to your right immediately beyond the bridge (going up Henrietta) - have you seen any drawings, etc. of how it's going to change things?  I've tried to imagine it, and since I've crossed that bridge hundreds of times in my younger days to Grandma's on Albemarle Terrace ( ;D) it's a bit puzzling to me what it might look like after "re-electrification" below!!

Thanks loads, Bill.  I guess I won't worry any more now.  The drawing plans look quite impressive.  I wonder when it will all take place - the writing on the plans was a little bit small to read very well, but the lower left picture says it all I guess.   ;D   Again......many thanks.  Joyce

Oh, wow, Bill!!   How do you find all these fantastic shots (or at least be able to make them)?  What a talent!  Thanks, again.    8) ;D ;D

Not actually being a Crow but a clipped winged old fart this could be classed as useless info.

Using some of the locations provided by Bill, here are some heights above sea level which featured in a small article in The Reporter from August 5 1977 (and those details had been taken from a 1937 year book).

Alderman 1,444 ft
Bucton (I assume this is Buckton) 1,126 ft
Chew (Black Chew) 1,774 ft
Deep Cutting (Roe Cross) 805 ft
Harridge 1,293 ft
Harrop Edge 997
Hough Hill 800 ft
North Brushes Farm, Brushes 1,000 (I put this in as I couldn't find any reference to Carrbrook)
Pots and Pans 1,258 ft
Rivington Pike 1,493 ft (Bolton way?)
Stamford Park Lake 463 ft (the nearest reference I could find to Ashton)
Werneth Low 915 ft
Wild Bank (Stalybridge, above Huddersfield Road) 1,310 ft

There were plenty of others but I haven't listed them as I'm unclear whether or not they might be visible from Hartshead Pike (which itself is 941 ft above sea level). For example, Owl's Head is 1,720 ft, Noon Sun is 1,103 ft and West Nab is 1,641 ft.

Happy viewing for all you hikers out there who shortly might be venturing up Hartshead Pike.
