I thought cameras were frowned upon in the centre.I couldn't take a picture of Black Knight also.

The lower photo was taken from outside the centre. I took a similar photo to the top one a few years ago and a security officer asked me what I was doing. I told him I was taking a picture of the Christmas lights and he said that was okay. I don't think any of the shoppers are too identifiable.

The Black Knight is now in the council offices and I asked if I could photograph it and was given permission to do so.

I wonder where the statue will go when they demolish the council offices.

That's what tickles me, my Note 2 protrudes out of my shirt pocket, so if I so desire I can film anywhere I want, with my breast cam  ;D
If it sounds too good to be true,it probably is!

Hello Albert.

Martin's the lad for changing the top of the page.  Meanwhile, will this do till they knock the council offices down?......

Hi Bill
That hasn't changed much except for the building where the Modern boys playground used.to be and the spare ground opposite the Palais. Are those grotty toilets still there. There used to be a little shop on the corner across from the Empire Kathy Durban lived there, used to chase me when we went to school    herby

Hello herby.

You'd definitely need a map if you came back - so much has changed.

I don't recall any toilets round there but do remember a shop.  This is where it was, where the blue shutters are.

Hi Bill
The toilets herby was talking about used to be in the next street opposite side of the empire where the car park is behind the star pub

Thanks ourjud.

Still no recollection, but with the way I walk round with my eyes half closed it's not surprising.

Something else I've never noticed is the sign on the wall at the location of the shop herby mentioned.  They obviously thought a lot about their mum......

HI Bill
That's not it it was on the next street up towards Old st. The same street as the Palais doorway was on only the other end. I cant remember the name of the street but it was only a small one                                                                                                                            herby
