I avoided making it too bright Martin as I wanted it to appear as near as possible to how I saw it.  It does look a bit gloomy, but that's how it was in the early hours of this morning :).

I know - I was just playing about.

Hello Bill,

You really are a treasure  :D The photograph that you said was Black and you have 'doctored', has come out really well. I have printed it off and taking it to show at my meeting this afternoon...........some of us ex-poms will thrive on it, not only because it is great, but the coolness about it!
Glad Herby mentioned the Methodist Church on Stamford Street. Again we had forgotten what is used to be!. Think we have been away for to long and had better make a trip to find out how the Ashton we knew has changed. I have to say that Ashton, from your very kind photographs along with Vanessa ,
Martin and ChrisandAng's contributions looks an entirely new place altogether from the place we left 45 years ago.
Am also enjoying your Blog Martin, you do an excellent job, once again Thank You, to all of you.

Danny

This is the bush Vanessa.

Now, if you'd said you'd seen a ghastly figure near the memorial, I'd have held my hands up ;).

Gee Bill, Maybe he saw Vannessa perusing him so he has gone back behind the bush (No offence to Vannessa meant) - Perhaps he is the guy he we saw in Vannessa`s photo a while back.  Seriously Bill & Vaneesa,  I really enjoy the Photos you both take --It always brings back many memories.  --Jayess

I believe that where the block of white portacabins are is where the park and ride is going to be. You can just see the train platform for the station.

Presume it's the obelisk on this photo blog from October 2011, but it was childless then!!   ;)
