Hi Bill. Your picture of the Tudno mill chimney is interesting. It looks fairly slim there but I took a photo from Slate Lane in 1977 looking back towards Ashton before all the massive redevelopment and a chimney in the far background has the word 'Tudno' on it but it's much wider than in your shot. Is that chimney still there or has it been demolished?

"It seems the chimney is oblong and so your photo would be of the wide side."

Ah yes, all is revealed. Thanks Bill.

The church pics are especially atmospheric Bill.  Loved them, especially with the clock faces lit up  :)

Love the photo of the station- just like an Edward Hopper painting where you can make up a story about what might happen next!

So do I, Those gas mantles

I don't know about Boston, there was very little north of the station when the line was first built.

Had a walk along the Huddersfield Canal yesterday morning from Mossley to Portland Basin, was quite nice apart from having to avoid all the dog eggs between Stalybridge and Ashton  ;)

The weather isn't that bad, at least it's not bucketing down and I won't have to re-acclimatise when I go home coz the temperatures are about the same  ;) Just gotta get used to not being wide awake at 3am and eating dinner when my stomach thinks it's 5 in the morning.

OK, off to the Riverside cafe for brekky, if it's open yet  :)

Would that be us by any chance, Bill... Ha!Ha! I move from Ashton, and still  manage to get blamed for everything that happens  ;D
