A good question Too shy.  It's the building behind the bowling green - under here - and could well be the cafe I mentioned.

I had to poke my camera through a hole in the half inch steel surrounding security doors to get the picture and it was difficult to see much inside.  Why the cafe isn't taking advantage of the weather before winter sets in is a bit strange, particularly as there were a a lot of people in the park.

Thanks for the reply, Bill. Any sightings of the old, Victorian-style cafe that stood adjacent to the boating lake (Stalybridge side)? No trip to Stamford Park was complete without nipping in there for a cuppa.

Hello Kennetho.

I've just had a look at the other side of the plaque I photographed and the stocks are shown on it, so they must be in the park somewhere.  Second from the left in the picture below...

Hello Too shy - you've got me on that one.  They don't seem to have altered the lake side of the park, although they were working on a new road layout near the pelican crossing from the lake to the main park.
