Does anyone remember the pop bottles that had a marble in the neck of the bottle. The shopkeeper had a little tool to open them ,and you would tilt the bottle one way and it was stoppered.

Weren't those called Codd bottles Brian?  I don't remember them originally but I seem to remember that they're very collectable as so many were broken by children to get the "marble" out that they're quite rare now.

Jan, Yes ,they are very rare, Believe it or not I just bought one here in British Columbia. It was from a maker in Barrow in Furness.  How it got over here beats me.  I paid $25 for it!!!!!.
