Firework displays!
« on: November 04, 2009, 01:47 PM »
I am desperately trying to find out where any local firework displays are being held tomorrow night.  I live in Hurst Cross and I could have sworn I saw a poster advertising one at The Turnpike, but the poster has now disappeared!  I've scoured the web, and the Advertiser but haven't been able to find any mention of firework displays anywhere in Ashton!

Anyone have any ideas, where, when etc etc???

Hi Cakes,

Why not ring and ask if the Turnpike are putting on a display - Tel. 0161 343 0220.

Can only find through Tameside.gov.uk. Events Calendar - the one on Richmond St, if you are able to get down there from the Cross. That sounds good, fair as well........

Cheers.   Denise   :)

The Richmond Street display is on Thursday night. Fairground opens 6pm display from 8pm, you can park on Sainsbury's, if you have a blue badge you can park near the display area.

Take your own baked spuds in foil - kids will love eating round the fire. The thought of it all takes me back - can't recall when I last went to a bunty - must have been 1977-ish. ENJOY!!!   Denise   ;)

Apparently 'bonfire' is a variation of the Medieval word 'bone-fire' which was used for the public burning of heretics. Nice!!  Denise   :(
