NIGHT CLUBS

hi are night clubs on a decline thinking back to the 60s and 70sand 80s there were a good few in ashton and surrounding area , i remember the palis , the horse shoe, the kumfy club there was flames , the go jo club which became blues ,mints ,there use to be one near the prince of orange in the 80s , surrounding area smokies still there , golden garter , poke poko stockport , rotters . offerton palace , southern sporting club and the northern sporting club , do any one on this site know them , here one for to remember it was one of the first all nighters in ashton and it was the spinx club which was in the cellers of sorento coffee bar on stamford street , can any one remember any more from the 50s or even the 40s  :D

In the 70s there was Carriages at Moorside.

My mum used to go to work does (she worked for machonokies ala rowntrees - nestle ) at the poky poky and the northern garter ? i think,when i was a little country kid, before i became a townie  :)

hi there was a night club in failsworth that was popular in the 70s just cant think of the name ?

I worked in Fagin's many moons ago.At the time I had been made redundant but had to work my notice out to qualify for the pay,meanwhile I got a job but they needed me to start immediately,so I ended up working in Fagin's at night and my job during the day.
Back to the good old days!!
As a bit of trivia I still use a pint glass I half inched from Fagin's.
I'm very nostalgic!!

There was another club in the Oldham/Failsworth area in the '70s too called The Bees Knees. Remember going there one New Year`s Eve, but can`t recall exactly where it was.

They used to get some good turns on at the Talk Of The North, in Eccles.

hi was there a night club called quaffers in 70s i seem to recall , the ones in oldham romeo and juliets use to be top rank , also the candle light club . there were good few in manchester , there use to be one on fennel street behind the cathedral in the 70s forgot its name ? did any one visit foo foos in the 80s ,been on a few stag dos there what a laugh

there was a night club on stamford st near mill lane i think it was above a indian resturant it got raided by the police whilst i was in there the police took my name and address ofcourse i gave my proper name.
Hard work never killed anyone-but it made some funny shapes.
