HARDINGs OF NEWMAN STREET
« on: December 03, 2017, 12:23 PM »
Realise this may be a long shot, but going to give it a try anyway.  I am looking for any descendants/relatives of James Charles Harding and wife Ellen who were living at 4 Newman Street during the first world war (1914-1918). James died in 1930 aged 69

I canít really help with this one but Iíve had a quick glance at the relevant censuses and it seems James did not marry until he was aged 47 and then to his Ďservantí Mary Ellen Whiteley in 1908 who was aged 52. (Whether he had any children along the way is difficult know). I can't find an earlier marriage at the moment but he was single on the 1901 census. He did have siblings in Hampshire, namely Charles H, Edwin F, William and Elizabeth R but I donít know if they followed him to Ashton.
