Meg's Brooks family
« on: January 14, 2017, 06:17 PM »
Hello Meg, it seems we share a great grandfather John Brooks. John died in Sheffield in 1937 aged 81. Four generations and three branches of the family seemed to have moved to Sheffield in the early 1930's , something pretty drastic must have happened to cause  them all to move. I tracked them down from burial records.

sorry for delay, Kate. John Brooks wasn't my great grandfather. John Brooks born about 1853 in Glossop was the father of my uncle, also John who was adopted as a baby and brought up as a Cundy. John (junior) was born 1903. His mother Mary Ann Cutting died in 1903 (probably as a result of childbirth). In 1901 the family were living in Dunkerley Street, Waterloo, AUL.
Thanks for all the information which I have added to the family tree.  M.

Hi Meg , sorry about that, I seem to have adopted some of your family while doing my searches. I got most of the info from family search and a bit from ancestry. Back to the drawing board then, I'm getting too ruddy old for all this the grey cells are wearing out.
