Ashton Operatic Society

Does anyone remember the production of West Side Story in the early 1960's?  My friend Pat Lansley was in this show. She was a good singer and dancer, we lost touch when I moved to Folkestone.

Over the years I went to see many of Ashton and Dukinfield Operatics and use to enjoy them looking forward to them returning to the Theatre Fudge

I have distant memories of seeing Ashton OS do 'West Side Story' though I was probably too young at the time to fully appreciate the show.
In later years, I became a member of the Society and worked on a handful of shows in a technical capacity before moving south. My favourite show during  this time was 'My Fair Lady' which was absolutely superb in all respects. In my book, Ashton made as good a job of the show as a professional company I saw perform it in the West End some years later.
