Taunton in the 1841 Census
« on: February 02, 2015, 05:49 PM »
I'd like to take a walk through Taunton in 1841 via the censuses that are available n ancestry.

I have found the area in 1851 and 1861 but been unable to locate it with any real confidence earlier.

Can anyone suggest which Enumeration District it is please ?

Thanks

Antony

Thanks very much for you input.

I'm afraid though that it doesn't seem to match all the references on ancestry which appear to be just numbered ED1 to ED8.

They are also like this on the C5D web site but again, only 1 to 8 is there and nothing for Taunton

Am I missing something ?

I did eventually find this.

For info it's after ED8 in the Ashton Town District .  Somewhat odd I guess.

Coincidentally on my Ashton mailing list this morning  I got notification that ED9 had been added to the C5D Web site.

Thanks anyway for trying
