Special Constabulary Badge
« on: December 03, 2014, 12:32 AM »
I have in my possession an Ashton-under-Lyne Special Constabulary button hole badge which I assume was worn on the uniform jacket.  It has the Ashton coat of arms on the front and is about 35mm diameter and has the number 213 stamped on the rear stud.
I know nothing of its history though I believe it was amongst items removed from the house of a deceased relative. If there is a museum or equivalent of 'all things Ashton' perhaps someone would let me know as I would be glad to send it to them.

Cheers

There is a Police Museum in Manchester look on Google and it will probley give you an address and phone number to ask if they would like it and they might have some more information about it for you or see when the opening times are it well worth a visit and its free. Fudge
