Urgent help needed Re: Mr Oliver x 2
« on: April 05, 2014, 05:02 PM »
Please HELP!!! I am trying to gather information regarding my deceased Father Terence Lloyd Oliver, born 1943 in Ashton-under-Lyne, he was born at Lake hospital & him & his parents resided at 79 Pottinger Street. His Dad Lloyd Oliver was a Sargeant in the Royal Artillery .My dad was a Catholic & was raised by his Aunt & Uncle ,as his parents (Lloyd & Margaret Oliver nee Ballagher) passed away when he was young. He joined the army ( I don't know what regiment, only that he enlisted locally) at a young age , whilst in the army he trained as a carpenter. He married a girl from Ashton ( I don't know her name) all I know is that she had some brothers. They had 2 sons together, both will now be in their 40's. I believe that he left Ashton in the early 70's. I have very urgent medical information that I need to share with his Son's ( My half brother's). So if you could supply me with any leads, information or advice I would be most grateful. Thank You for taking the time to read this, Kind Regards Tamara ;D

Hi Tammi

Why not email the local paper. They have a letters page. This week, there was a request to help find the family of a soldier from World War 1 and they were found within a couple of days.

Thanks Heather . That's a great idea,I will email them straight away, not being local myself I am really grateful for the link. I have been doing some investigating today & there was a Terence Oliver Born in Doncaster in 1969 & then Neil Terence Oliver Born in Doncaster in 1972. I am not a member of any genealogy sites so my searches are very basic, any local help is greatly appreciated <3

Tammi

Just wanted to let you know that your letter is in this week's Tameside Advertiser.

I hope somebody recognises the names and gets in touch.
