Hi Herby & Jayess,

Hope you are still above water? The news sounds very grim 3 dead and hundreds evacuated!! I have just seen devastation and still rising! Jayess you said you lived on the side of a River? Hope your place is still there? Herby is everything still in tacked? People are still cleaning up and making claims from last years floods. What a start to the year for thousands.
Keep safe and keep in touch.

Hi Joe - you can see pictures, etc. if you type in:  "2013 Floods in Queensland" in your search box.  Must be horrendous for those poor people affected, Danny!   Take care... Joyce

Hi Danny -- I must of missed this when you asked  on here about Herby & myself but for all the rains that came the flooding was nowhere near us --it was mainly caused though the wise guys letting water out of the dams again --they never learned after the last episode that storing water in this dam was supposed to be partly for drinking water & to be left after so much was in & 75 per cent to be left to take the excess water. Of course when  a person gets into  Parliament he becomes a expert on all subjects & so the dam was nearly full before the rains came & not enough space to take the rains. So Brisbane area suffered again but not as bad as the previous episode.   A little late but at least I hope it explains why we didn`t answer you letter.  Jayess

Hi Danny
Ive just come across is as well as Jayess. We were alright the street was flooded and we couldn't get out. our street is like a W and we sit on the top of the middle bit we were about fifteen feet above the water Our neighbors back garden was under water only damage to a few plants. The last time it flooded we were going to Tassie and couldn't get out we rang the airport and they put us on a plane three days later I dont think that we will ever get that much rain to flood our place. Thanks for asking     herby

Hi
We had a drop of rain to-day in Caboolture, unfortunately a rather large drop 227 mls about 9 1/2 inches between nine a m and six pm and it aint finished. The back yard looked like a river. there were cars floating down one of the main roads and in the shopping centre the water was a quarter way up the escalator. We were lucky we did our shopping on Wednesday.  herby

Building Morayfield shopping centre on a riverbed wasn't exactly a shining example of clever town planning was it ?, stay safe all you banana benders  ;)
This definition tells you all you need to know about 'PC'
PC, aka, Political Correctness, is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority (Liberals/Socialists) and promoted by the mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is possible to pick up faeces by the clean end.

Hi Herby & Jayess,

Looks like mother nature has done a good job in your neck of the world!!!!! I have only just picked it up on the news and am hoping that you are both alright. I think you are more in line of this "slight wetting"!! ha ha Herby?. Joking apart I hope that all is well with the both of you and that nothing untold has happened to either of you or your families. Such sad news regarding the motorist who did not listen or read the signs and drove through the water anyway? Poor things. Keep us posted and let us know that you are alright. Think you had betterr pack your cases, get your boats out and sail up here for a spell until everything dries out?

Hi Danny
All the family O K the rain gone now. Lovely day yesterday. The rain that caused the floods 333mls in 24 hours. Where I live you couldn't tell it had rained except for the soggy lawn. the road I live on is like a W and we sit on the middle, the last flood we were still about 15 feet above the water, we couldn't get out of the street but no danger or damage. Thanks for asking love                                                                                                           herby

Hi Danny
Thanks for the query but although we got 140 mils of rain it soon disappeared and it was only a couple of days of heavy rain & it was gone & it was back to the Shorts & short sleeve shirts again.  The temp was back to 26 deg Selsius today. Some parts of the shire was flooded but most of it disappeared in a couple of days.  Jayess

Jayess, Glad to hear you are all OK down there. I agree with your assessment regarding Politicians, we have hundreds of them up here from MPs. to local councillors. I don't know what gets into these nuts, the minute they are elected. Still only 30% vote in the local elections. So we get what we get!..
