I have been told that Lyndhurst as been sold to a Asian family who are going to live there. Also been told they can't knock Tameide Theatre down as a grade two listed building as been put on it. Fudge

Maybe right on the family , i've been told its going to be a mosque, but that maybe rubbish. Yes the theatre is now grade 2 listed.

I can remember the original workhouse building (not the red brick one) being grade 2 listed. Its just been demolished. Now if I had a choice between the theatre or the original workhouse building being knocked down, my choice would have been the theatre. It wasn't an ugly building and did have an historical significance for the area, so why did they allow it to be demolished, I'm sure it could have been incorporated into the new building. It was well known for being haunted too.
