I was born in Bardsley 1935 in a house facing the Woodpark Pit Gates.Lived in Bardsley till I got married in 1954.Moved to Oldham In 1956.Back to Bardsley in 1959.Left for Australia.Dec 1963 been here ever since.

Remember when you would hit a bike wheel with a stick and chase after it.We where posh for a while we had a bike wheel with a tyre on it.Mam sent me to the Co-op for a loaf some buggar nicked me wheel and I had to walk home.

When we left Oldham to live here in Australia december 1963 Oldham corporation buses served Greenfield Uppermill Delph and Dobcross.Manchester Corporation allso ran buses in to Greenfield they used to terminate at Clarence Hotel.
I drove for WHSmith the Wholesale Newsagents All around Saddleworth Mossley Stalybridge And Ashton delivering the Papers to Newsagents in the early hours of the mornings hail rain snow and fog.

I cant help with Reuben's past.I remember him very well.Kids used to call out Reuben Reuben where the hell have you
been he would shake his fist at them.
There was a wooden hut on Oldham Rd facing Waterloo Police Station you could get all you wanted for Dynamos you used for lights on a bike.I think the man sold Bike spare parts.
Anyone remember the Police seargeant at Waterloo we used to call bushy eyebrows.
