hi we had a phone call this afternoon which i thought was a bit dodgy , a firm claiming to be computer maintenance services, they said that our computer was running slow in a morning ,and we should follow these instructions , turn computer on go on start click on run and type these letter in , i thought no one as rang up about windows running slow and the computer seems to be running ok . i started to ask where the company was and she richmond surrey , i ask her if you know that our computer was running slow who was our internet provider was , she could no answer that , so i did not take her instructions any further so she then said i can not take this phone call any further and hung up , is this a scam  as any one else had a phone call like this is it a scam  ??? beware

HI  adobe flash player as been working fine up to yeasterday ,i was trying to listen and watch old groups on  you tube , every time i tried it came up update your adobe player , i tried to watch a program on the bbc web site , that did the same load adobe flash player , so i click on load and it would not install,saying read for those that were on mozilla fire fox so i clicked on what it had to say and tried to follow the instruction ,to no avail , is there a easier method to get the video and sound on you tube ,there are four of us that have our own space on the computer , there adobe is working fine but i must have clicked on somthing i should not have as any one else had this problem and can it be solved ???

HI can any one remember the three wise men , they use to be on the hill overlooking ashton , they were a group of trees and from a distant the look like the three wise men, am i dreaming it but i am sure they once could be seen when walking down oldham road up by the hop pole looking straight in front of you ?

HI i was shocked the other day reading the metro it was also on the news , of people that had died on the railway and they have still not been identified i think there were 21 it show artist impressions taken from picture taken at the morgue , i hope by bringing it to light they my trace and put a name to the face and end someones misery

hi being on holiday i read the mirror there was a wordsearch competition ,with a word missing so having time on my hands i did it ,the word that was missing was seven , you had to ring a number with your answer , which i did the cost of a normal phone call ,today i got a letter back that i had won and my name would be put forward if i entered a further word search ,set 1 to 3 with a word missing out of each set ,to register my answers to  ring a 09  number looking at the small print the call would last 5minutes 55 seconds at 1-50P minutes , its not a con there are winners , but it wont be me  :D so beware

HI reading the metro this morning , i see they are selling frisky the famous coronation street cat it will be in the ashes in a wooden box  with a brass plaque on , the auction is the 22 july and its expected to fetch up to 150 pounds , next they will be auctoning ena hair nets , i am convinced some people will buy anything  :D

HI  did the 50s kick start the 60s , we were talking the other day a mixed age of fellows that were teenagers in the 50s and a good few that were teenagers in the 60s , a lot said the 50s kick started the 60s , with fashion and music , i have lived in ashton and i can not recall a shop that sold 50s fashion , i remember cassons shoe shop that sold beetle crushers , but being a 60s teenager i remember mens fashion shops  manny showmans sold lots of 60s clothing and fashion , and there was another fashion botique of the 60s which was pete cohens on old street , there were a few in manchester can any one recall any more or any 50s and 60s out lets in ashton , i believe the 50s fashions are making a comeback more so for woman . i hope the music makes a comeback to i think i would look like one of the three stooges if i had a beatle cut now  :D

HI  whats going on the government are asking the public where they think public spending should be stopped, where ever the cuts are going to be made it will effect someone , and why should everyone take a pay cut , if i was earning the amount the mps are earning thats where i would make the cuts ,where would you make your cuts in public spending  ???

HI i see the volcanic ash is still pouring out ,and the no fly as been extended to 07-00 pm tonight , it said on the news last night that the volcanic ash was getting worse , so i can see that the situation will get worse , i feel sorry for those that are going on the long haul flights ,also those that are stranded and can not return home , the last time this volcano erupted it lasted for nearly two year ,but that was two hundred years ago ,i glad i have not booked any holidays yet :(

hi i cut through ashton today and for some unknown reason i look up at two buildings in ashton ,then i thought what were they built for and the reason they were built one was on fletcher street it was dated 1866  and the other on market street named market building 1857 the one on fletcher street it looks as if its been big hall or hotel or even a public house if i get some spare time i would love to delve and see what they were , i will be taking more notice now when i walk through ashton  :D  ::)

hi i was wondering the other week that we have had no advertiser delivered since christmas ,some one was saying they no longer deliver , but you can buy it from most news agents 35 pence , i just wondering is just certain areas  that  they have stopped , do you still get yours free ? i use to pop into booth street if they have not delivered and pick one up , but there office as gone , do you know where they sell them in ashton town centre  ???

HI reading the metro this morning for the third year running a scotish shop as won the tittle of best fish and chip shop in brittain  second was one from bridgend  and third one from birmingham , the fish net in ashton won a prize a few year ago , but whats happening to the good old north west chippy , mind you i went to one in york in the shambles and the fish and chips were out of this world ,guess what i am having for my dinner  :P  :D
