General Discussion / LOST FOR EVER

hi i heard on the tv the other week we could loose all the pictures we have put on computer and all other details we have put on the pc , the were saying that in 20 years time the computers could face a memory black out loosing part of our photography history pictures lost for ever , thats why sometimes you cant beat the old fashion ways by taking pictures and having copies done and keep photographs , but saying that in 20 years time i think computers will be a thing of the past with somthing taking its place , :)

HI its been on the news today that ikea is closed due to high winds blowing the  blue cladding down making it a danger to the public , it could be closedd for a few days

hi do you ever get one of those days were everything you do goes wrong and one job leads to another , like this morning the car would not start got  the battery charger , got it all set up the fuse had gone in the charger went dashing down to halfords to get a fuse , returned charge the battery , while waiting for it to charge , i thought i would make my self useful and empty the recycle bin waste food in the biodegradable bag which burst and fell all over the kitchen floor more work cleaning it up , went to put the disinfectant away everything fell out of the cupboard more work , the car had charged up by this time , disconnecting the charger , the car battery cover fell on the ground and broke the clip and the days not over yet , should have stopped in bed, does any one else have a run of misfortune  :)

HI no long now before the scotish independence vote , i think it will be a bad thing for all of the u k if scotland become independent from the rest of us , i say keep the great in great britain and that means scotland , what does all our ex pats, and where you live in the uk think about home rule , should lancashire become independent from england  , i wonder what jack views are being a scot  ;D

hi whats going on with the weather ,yesterdays hurricane and the rain we have had since before christmas have been biblical , we have not had it to bad here in ashton just a few greenhouse perspex windows blown out and smashed at my house, round the corner all the front of the house brickwork and windows down and out  and slates blown off a few roofs ,and more to come how as it been in your area ,hope you are all well

have we become a nation of hoarders ,or do you believe if not used in twelve months get rid ? i tend to keep things  might find use for it like old kettles irons, i have a shed with old door cupboard handles even plugs old taps , i have just decluttered my wardrobe which half the stuff i never worn for years , soon as the better weather comes i will start on the shed , and may be the loft ,how do you deal with hoarding , if i went to a car boot sale i probably come back with more then i took  :)

hi we were having a discussion about books and kindles , i have never been a book worm, but when i have read a book i like going into a book shop broues round and i love the smell of new books and enjoy a book i think better then a kindle which my better half ,as she  prolific reader and i think the books would be up to the roof if she had bought books  ,  but what ever the advantages the kindle have , i prefer a good old fashion book , when i am in the mood to read, what are your choices book or kindle :)

hi i was woken to a loud bang at 4-20 am this morning thought some one was out the back, the bathroom was lit up i opened the window , to the smell of smoke and flames billowing over the back , a lorry had caught fire on the slip road leading onto the motor way near to evans and halshaws  the slip road is still closed i hope no one was injured

HI i watched paul o gradys working britain on thursday night on bbc it brought back a lot of nostalgia, although it was about liverpool , we experienced the same back to back houses no one had out but pride , thinking back you never give it a thought what you had and did not have , when there was full employment back then you still had nowt and the community spirit was great , why as so much changed :)

HI just wondering when you go to the seaside for the day, or on holiday world wide do  the tourist after pay more for the goods they purchase , and do the locals get it cheaper my daughter just come back from kiwi land she said the cost of living there is exspensive and some of the goods that are produced there are cheaper to buy in the uk , no wonder locals there are into moonshine , when you go out for the day here in the uk i am sure the locals dont pay the same price as the tourist , as any one else thought the same ??   :)

hi i hope this summer and the warmer weather will arrive soon , as march as been the coldest for fifty years and no sign of it ending till the middle of this month, our gas boiler as been working overtime i dred the gas bill , do you think we will have a good summer or is going to be a repeat of last year , or is this the going to be the start of a new ice age  8) no sun glasses  :D
