Why not email the local paper. They have a letters page. This week, there was a request to help find the family of a soldier from World War 1 and they were found within a couple of days.

The link that I gave above is to the list that was made when the graveyard was cleared.

There must be a document somewhere that lists the names of the people who purchased the graves.

I will try at the archives again.

Hi

There is a scheme called Tell us once. The registrar gave me a reference number with the death certificate. You can then call the Department for Work and Pensions on 0800 085 7038. Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm free from BT lines or register on line www.gov.uk/tell-us-once
I was able to cancel things like driving licence, passport, tv licence, pensions etc

Gertrude Susan Astley, sister of Beatrice Emma, married Arthur Nicholson who was a senior clerk in the House of Commons. When Dukinfield Park was opened in 1902, Lord Arthur  and Lady Gertrude Nicholson, of the Manor, donated a mast from a ship.

In 1899 Mrs Astley Cheetham cut the first sod of Dukinfield park
