Have the boundaries changed ? I seem to remember that when you were near Stamford Park one was only a short way from the boundaries of Lancs, Yorks, and Cheshire, Is my memory correct??

We used to go to the Town Hall for dances now and then, and there used to be a pub nearby that let us underaged   16/17 in for a drink at intermission we went in his own living room!!.
Do not remember the name. but happy memories. I recall taking a girl home up to Dewsnap lane, and then walking home to Montague Rd. I doubt young folk would walk two blocks nowadays?.

Jayess, Glad to hear you are all OK down there. I agree with your assessment regarding Politicians, we have hundreds of them up here from MPs. to local councillors. I don't know what gets into these nuts, the minute they are elected. Still only 30% vote in the local elections. So we get what we get!..

I worked as a apprentice tool maker at Rycroft in 1943/44, just before I joined the Navy, The Foreman was called Frank English and my mate was Arthur Pennington (he had a brother called Keith) .Bill Haslam was there as I recall. they had a great Canteen as we did Fire watching during the Wartime and the Ladies made up great sandwiches!!!!!. During those years they were making Aileron's and Bomb Doors for the
Avro Lancaster

Funny how things pop into your mind at the funniest times.
I was watching a show on TV and this name came up "Ambler"
I then remembered that there was a teacher of that name at the above school app 1938
They had a green grocers shop on Old St near St Michaels square.
any one old timer recall this ?

Mother in Law arrives home from shop to find her son in law Paddy in a steaming rage hurriedly packing his suitcase, What happened Paddy she asked anxiously?  What Happened? I'll tell you what happened. I sent her an e Mail telling her I was coming home from my fishing trip. I get home and guess what, I find your daughter Jean, my wife naked in bed with   Joe Murphy. This is unforgivable, the end of our marriage ,I'm done, leaving home..
Now calm down Paddy says Mother in Law, there's something odd going on here. Jean would never do such a thing, there must be an explanation, I'll go and speak with her and find out what  happened.
Moments later Mother in Law comes back with a big smile,  Paddy, I told you there was a simple explanation..

"She never got your e Mail " ::)

We had a power outage at our house this morning and my PC, laptop,
cordless phone, and my new surround sound system shut down.
Then I discovered that my iPad and iPhone batteries  were flat, and to top it off it was raining outside so I couldn't play golf.
I went to the kitchen to make a coffee, then remembered that also needs power, So I sat down and talked to my wife for a while.
She seems like a nice person.
