My son Ian and Grandson Jacob were at the Medin Gate yesterday to lay a wreath my Uncle Ernest Bardsley was killed in the battle one 100 years ago
Ernest joined up when he was to young and was sent home from France,and went back to work at the Snipe pit till he was old enough to going back to his
mates in 2/9 Battalion Manchester Regiment  RIP

Did any one watch the the program with Craig Revel Horwood we didnt find out until the near end that some of his forefathers came from Ashton they were called Shaw, and he most have taken his clogs with him to Aus

I started work in 1946 and the firm I was working for went to Rodo brushes on Old st it was just a small shop and I only saw one man,there may have been more in the back of the shop. Come up to date and one site were the old Asda was a big blue box of a place,then down Lumb lane the same type all blue they go on for ever.and as ugly as Iker. Any one know what they make or import.

Hi jaywit GG lived in the houses down the steps coming back to Hurst Cross they were built before the war and were council houses,
like ours on Leech ave behind the Cake a pie mill

Hi herby I started work same time and it was a bad winter,later when we were married we wanted one on Lees road but couldnt get a loan on one from the CO OP  they had run out of money .not much better now a days.

Would that be the Methodish Chapel opposite the Black school. the graves are still there and the grave stones piled up and covered with soil.
