Memory Lane / Halloween i
« on: November 01, 2018, 02:59 AM »
Still thoughtful? but after 51 years what the heck. I make a fire in the basement,no lights on ,bell disconnected(hardwired?).Not that I'm a miserable sod but I've served my time Halloween wise.
Just a time for ourselves, which is great.
No non sense
Halloween is just another former religious occasion that Mammon has turned into a brainless celebration of anti-social behavior.

Is this a miracle.
Yesterday I was calling a Government agency(Canadian) I was on speaker so my wife could hear and normally we join a queue  of callers.I dialed the 1 800 + + + it rang and then was answered by an accent same as mine.
Went through the usual with a wrong number, then I decided to ask her about her accent.
I happened to have been connected to 011 44 161 330 ****
Spring Bank cres. AUL

Is this a miracle.!!!???
My wife suggested I buy a Lotto Ticket.

I have just spent too long! going over my postings.785 of them,I'm" up" or "down" to page 35 I know I posted about the problem of traffic with Ikea and bypass Trams etc.I am trying to find the post.If I find it I'll repost it unless it was before the new site,We were told to backup or lose them.I didn't,so they may be gone.Unless "The Belt Braces and suspender guy(Martin)has a backup copy.
As I tell my better half,"It's not often I'm wrong, but I happen to be right again.

General Discussion / Thought for the day.
« on: August 09, 2011, 03:06 PM »
Is immigration responsible for the present social problems?

I was just thinking about my own situation,I moved in 1977 from Ashton to Canada, the main reason was for the children to have a better chance at life.
In that respect things have turned out reasonably well.
I didn't go out of my way to integrate but also didn't ghettoize myself.
I didn't need or necessarily want help from any government sponsored resettlement plans.I had made the decision to move and I was responsible for it's success or failure.

Thought for the day.
Can leopards change their spots?
People coming from all sorts of different backgrounds,I think will continue to try to replicate what they are used to.Be it high birthrate, petty thieving, gangs etc.
Multiculturalism is a Government myth. It has lead to Ethnic ghetto's with little or no integration necessary or wanted.Throw in the pot Religion, and what a stew we have.
Would the Immigration Board have Anthropology experts for input on prospective candidates.
After all,we're all animals!!!Humans or whatever takes your fancy

My"Thought for the day."
