Title: My art exhibition
Post by: Vanessa on September 16, 2017, 07:08 PM
Over the last two years I've been painting scenes of Ashton and the surrounding district, all my work is now on display at the Central Art Gallery, on Old Street, upstairs from the library. It is called Ashton under Lyne Places and Tameside Landmarks, it is open from 16 September 2016 to 13 January 2017. If you decide to pay a visit please check the opening times. Here is a short video I took today.

Thank you so much Greeny, I'm so pleased you enjoyed them. Yes, that is the canal festival in 1980, I try to paint pictures that people can relate to and it looks like I've succeeded.

A fantastic display of paintings that display proper shape, form and perspective that common folk (trust me I'm real common) can relate to, and not the rubbish that looks like projectile puppy puke that some galleries have on show. Well done Vanessa.

I've looked several times at your site for viewing your paintings, Vanessa, and all I can say is that it looks absolutely wonderful, and I sincerely wish I could go and see your submissions in person.   I'm really envious of all those Ashtonians who can go to see them.   As Kiwi says, seeing paintings that you can actually recognize what they are about is perfect.    Absolutely great....and you are so talented.   Thanks a million for sharing so that we can at least see your exhibition on the internet.   :)  Joyce

I honestly don't know what the problem is, there is nothing sexual or erotic about it, it is what it is, we can't hide all works of art because the women are naked. Are they going to start putting clothes on naked statues next.

i agree Vanessa Paintings and Statue's have been done for hundreds of years and they are beautiful the one at M/C might have been taken down to clean or make way for a new picture Fudge

Hi its not been taken down to be cleaned they have not replaced it only pieces of paper for the public to comment on should the painting stay or go my reply would be keep the painting when the PC lobby try and dictate what's art and not art things have gone a bit to far  :)

It appears it was removed to create discussion and debate, which it has.
